Ready for a server upgrade?
at 2007-08-12 11:24:10

In a much needed update of this blog I will talk about the
upgrade of one of the dedicated servers that I use.

There are several options with an upgrade.

SERVER HARDWARE UPGRADES

Under the hardware upgrades are:

Additional hard drive(s) and also
Additional 512/1024/2048MB DDR RAM

NETWORK UPGRADES

Under the Network Upgrades are:

Additional IP Addresses
Additional GB’s of Monthly Bandwidth
10Mbps Unmetered Connection

also:

Redundant DNS Services
various Backup Services
Extra Services such as
SSL certificates

Personally I chose not to upgrade the server itself but
to get a bigger and faster machine, while keeping the
IP addresses I already had in use on the previous server.

This was done within a few hours and with no down time
whatsoever for the web sites on the server.
The cost for the service was $30 + the upgrade in price
for the new server.

Great job done by managemybox.com and I can only
recommend them highly for their service and servers.

Here is some of the latest web hosting news for you
and talk to you soon. :)
