Adding Fresh Blood to the Bleeding Edge of Web Development with Komodo 4.1.1
at 2007-08-12 19:11:22

Komodo IDE and Komodo Edit 4.1.1 are now available, with more bugs squashed per square inch than the windshield of a semi driving through Winnipeg in August. Talk about graphic debugging, huh? (And you thought all the puns around here related to Tcl...).

You can read the release notes for all the gory details, but basically, the latest release enhances some key features of our Ruby-focussed 4.1 release at RailsConf, such as improvements to the Rails project template, as well as addressing issues for XML, HTML, JavaScript, Run Command and PHP tools. So download it now.

In related news that's impossible to share whilst continuing the bugs-and-blood analogies, the Komodo Community site is now offering up cool new Komodo screencasts. Sign up on the Community Site—or sign in—and check it out.

The first feature from the Komodo Dev team is the Komodo 4.1 Rails Project Template Tutorial. Komodo developer Eric Promislow will walk you through the new Rails-specific features in Komodo 4.1 by demonstrating how to quickly build an application in Rails.

We've set up a screencast RSS feed, as we'll be adding new screencasts frequently. Watch for the Introduction to Komodo 4 in the next few days.

Can't wait? There's an existing cache of Komodo tutorials already, including a feature showcase and Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby, XSLT, and Run Command tutorials that give you hands-on introductions to key Komodo features.

Have an idea or suggestion for a future screencast? Let me know. | digg this
